Pie Lady Papercuts

Unique & handmade with love...

Hello there!

I am Pie Lady, a papercutter, paper dreamer, paper lover. Everything you see has been made lovingly by hand, no machines over here! I love making custom papercuts just for you and I don't even like pie very much...

I'm a stay-at-home working mummy who takes advantages of nap time and bedtime to cut some paper!

After finishing my degree in Advertising Design and working in various jobs, one day I decided to take pencil and razorblade to paper and as soon as I did, I fell in love. Cutting out precious memories out of one single piece of paper makes my world go round. How many people get to create a special and everlasting piece out of just a blank sheet of paper. To some that may be the most overwhelming, daunting, mind-numbing thing to sit in front of but to me, it is both a Universe of possibilities as well as my own little world to escape into...

I hope you enjoy looking at my work and hope you follow me and help me on my venture as I grow and improve with time. Come and join me on Facebook and Instagram. Feel free to message me through there, here through the contact page or email me on:

Thank you for your time and lots of love ♥

What is a Papercut?

Papercutting is an old Chinese art form where an image is cut from a single sheet of paper.

Are your papercuts hand or machine cut?

I believe in handmade, unique, custom made things made with lots of dedication and love, therefore everything you see, has been, is and will be made by hand. Although my cutting is very precise, it is never as "perfect" as a laser machine would cut, however I would always choose not to use a laser cutter as these can leave brown burn marks/darkened edges to your papercut and my customers prefer the craftmanship and quality of my papercuts.

Do you make custom designs?

Yes! Pretty much every piece you see is custom ordered for each individual customer. I think it’s a beautiful thing to see so many personal touches go into a piece, full of memories that can be treasured forever. Wether it be a cut for a special wedding couple, a family tree, the perfect anniversary gift, a memory capturing the birth of a new little life, a special birthday piece or just a fun or beautifully intricate pice inspired by something you love, the possibilities are endless when it comes to your own custom papercut. Contact me to discuss your vision and let’s make it happen. I hope to not only be able to create what you’re imagining, but hopefully even surpass your expectations.

What is your turnaround?

If you’re after a print rather than a paper cut, these will be dispatched within 3 days of payment being taken for it. When it comes to papercuts, this varies incredibly depending on the nature of the piece, what deadlines you have, how quickly the invoice is paid and how many custom pieces I am working on at the time. This is all discussed from the start of our conversation when starting a piece and I will always aim to slot pieces in for a specific date as much as physically possible. Of course the more time we have in advance, the better!

What is your payment policy for custom designs?

Once I have drawn your piece, I will send you an invoice to be paid upon design approval from you. I will then start cutting your piece.

What if I want to cancel my order?

Due to the custom nature of my pieces, they are not fully refundable. You can cancel any orders I have for you on my order book at any point before I start working on it (you will always be notified when this is), however if you cancel past this point, only a partial refund can be given according to the amount of work completed before the cancellation. For orders cancelled after completion but before posting, only the postage costs will be refunded.

If there is an issue with your order, please contact me. I believe in flexibility and know things can come up put of nowhere, so feel free to talk to me and I'll do my best to offer a solution within these guidelines.

Can you send my papercut framed?

Of course I can! This will of course make postage a little bit more but it’s very practical as the piece is completely finished with nothing else for you to do! Just let me know if this is what you want and we can discuss, sizes, colours, postage costs etc.

How do you calculate your prices?

I try to keep track of how much time I spend on different papercuts. That way I now have an idea of how much time I spend on average on different sized designs. with this in mind I try to pay myself a fair hourly rate. This amount plus the very little material cost make up the price of the papercuts.
